SPM records higher than last year

PUTRAJAYA: A total of 11,892 candidates obtained the Grade A in all the subjects they sat for in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination last year, an increase of 244 candidates, it was announced today.

      Education Ministry’s director- general Datuk Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof said the overall SPM achievement for 2013 improved from the year before, with the National Average Grade of 4.93 compared to 5.08 in 2012.
      "There are 405 candidates who obtained the A+ highest grade in all the subjects, out of which, 366 of the candidates were from national secondary schools and 39 from other schools,” he told reporters at a press conference when announcing the analysis of the results here.
       A total of 470,395 candidates sat for the examination last year.
Khair said that based on the National Average Grade (GPN), the 2013 SPM results are the best in five years.

STPM records higher perfect score


KUALA LUMPUR: The Sijil Tinggi Peperiksaan Malaysia (STPM) 2013 results will be released Wednesday while the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2013 results are scheduled for Thursday, March 20.

     STPM candidates can obtain the results from their respective schools from noon onwards, while private candidates would receive theirs by mail.
     In a statement here Tuesday, Malaysian Examination Council public relations officer Khawari Idris said 55,214 candidates sat for the exam at 773 centres nationwide.
     The results are also available via text message by typing STPM RESULT and sending it to 15888, he said.
     It can be viewed on the council's portal at http://www.mpm.edu.my from Wednesday noon onwards as well.
      Khawari added that a press conference on the analysis of the results would be held at the Council's auditorium in Bandar Baru Selayang, Batu Caves, Selangor half an hour before it is released to the candidates.
      As for SPM candidates the results will be available at their respective schools from 10 am onwards on Thursday.
      In a statement here today, the Education Ministry's Examination Board said that 470,395 candidates had sat for the exam at 3,616 centres nationwide.
      The results are also available via SMS by typing SPM and sending it to 15888. The service will be activated from 10 am Thursday to 11.59 pm, March 26.
      The press conference on the results will be held at 9 am on Thursday in the Main Conference Room, Level 6, Block E8, Complex Parcel E, Putrajaya.
